Terms of Service
Effective August 12, 2026 · PlatePicked is in beta.
These terms are the deal between you and PlatePicked ("we", "us") when you use platepicked.com. By creating an account or using the service you agree to them.
What PlatePicked is
A meal-planning service: it suggests weekly dinners from food you like, builds shopping lists, and estimates prices. It is currently in beta — features change, break, and occasionally disappear while we build.
The important food disclaimer
PlatePicked is not medical, nutritional, or dietary advice. Dietary preference filters (like "gluten free" or "nut allergy") are a best-effort convenience, not a safety guarantee. If you have an allergy or medical dietary requirement, always check actual product labels and recipe ingredients yourself. You are responsible for what you buy, cook, and eat.
Prices are estimates
Every price in PlatePicked is an estimate for planning purposes. Real store prices differ by store, region, and week. We are not responsible for differences between our estimates and what you pay at the register.
Your account
- You sign in with a code emailed to you. Keep access to your email account secure — it is your key.
- You must be at least 13 to use PlatePicked.
- Don't abuse the service: no scraping, no attacking it, no using it to spam, no trying to access other people's data.
Your content and ours
- Recipes and preferences you add are yours. You give us permission to store and process them to run the service for you.
- The PlatePicked name, design, and our recipe write-ups are ours. Preloaded recipes credit their original inspiration where one exists.
Free and paid plans
PlatePicked is free during beta. Paid plans are coming; pricing and what they include will be shown clearly before you ever pay anything. Nothing you were given free will be taken away without notice.
Liability, plainly
PlatePicked is provided "as is." To the maximum extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential damages from using the service, and our total liability is limited to what you paid us in the last 12 months (during the free beta: nothing). Some places don't allow these limits, so they may not fully apply to you.
Ending things
You can stop using PlatePicked or ask us to delete your account any time. We can suspend accounts that break these terms. We can discontinue the beta with reasonable notice.
Housekeeping
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, USA. If we change these terms meaningfully, we'll note it here and email significant changes. Questions: hello@platepicked.com.
